Thomas Heermann

As Product Line Manager for the Industrial Design organization which includes the Alias product family and the SketchBook franchise, Thomas Heermann's key goal is to empower design professionals to explore ideas creatively – in all different design verticals and creative professions.

With more than 10 years experience in Industrial Design, Thomas has held leadership roles at both the Toronto and UK offices, including Director of Product Management, Marketing Manager and Industry Marketing Manager for Design. Autodesk acquired the Alias product in January 2006.

In 2001, Thomas was the creator and project manager of Alias’ successful Create What’s Next Design Competition, in conjunction with the DesignExchange of Toronto, Canada. Additionally, he served as a jury member for both the National Post Annual Design competition and the “BraunPrize,” a bi-annual international design competition to promote young designers. Thomas led campaigns to bring Alias to a broader market, as well as introducing Alias’ technical surfacing solution. Before joining Alias, Thomas served as Marketing Director for ICEM Technologies in Frankfurt, Germany.
